Customer Lunch And Learn Session

Costain Carillion Joint Venture are building a link road between the M1 and the A5 just south of Bedford.  Anyone travelling on the M1 between Junctions 11 and 12 will see the new bridges currently under construction on the project. Sam Ryan and Steve Amos (Technical Quality Manager) were contacted by Costain Carillion requesting us to present at the sites ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions.

These are one hour sessions over the lunch time period where anyone from the site can attend and learn from guest speakers about a topic related to the contract. We were asked to give an overview on concrete and recent innovations.  The session was attended by 30 people (full house) and varied from Site Management, Designers, Engineers through to Site Operatives. The first half of our presentation on the basics of concrete was followed by a run through of our Value Added Products catalogue.  A number of our offerings were of great interest to the audience with a lively discussion on where the VAPs could be used for on-site applications. After the presentation a few people hung around and a further question and answer session took place with topics as diverse as cathodic protection for structures through to fibre distribution within concrete.

This was a great opportunity to present our offerings to one of our customers and one I am sure, from the feedback received, will be repeated.
