The Crossrail contract we are supplying concrete to at Liverpool Street was in the news this week, as the discovery of hundreds of graves from the 16th and 17th Centuries has caused a slight hiccup in the works! The unknown graveyard is thought to be for those who died primarily from the plague at the old Bethlehem Hospital which stood on the site way back. At the moment there is a team of archaeologists investigating and removing skeletons, which will be taken to consecrated ground elsewhere and then reburied.
An interesting glimpse into London’s history. See the item on BBC iPlayer
