Our first walking floor trailer went to action last Monday – delivering Asphalt from our Salford Plant to a stretch of road works on the outskirts of Preston the customer had specifically requested these vehicles due to overhead cable obstructions on parts of the works.

This trailer – the first of two – delivers product via an internal walking floor system of moving slats, so the trailer can discharge a wide range of asphalt and aggregates automatically while the body remains horizontal.

This makes the system ideal for jobs where there are height restrictions such as tunnels and overhead cables or areas where a normal tipping trailer would struggle to operate due to an incline.

This insulated truck can deliver 27 tonnes of material and will discharge a load in around 4 minutes.
