The Technical Team has recently been running technician workshops at Shap Quarry and Sheffield Paving Solutions offices.

The events were planned to be more interactive than in the past and certainly proved to be with some enthusiastic and out of the box thinking and ideas coming to the fore.

Martin Gardener, National Technical Manager, reports: “Health and Safety, as always, came first and having reviewed the past year the commitment from all attendees was that there was always more that we could all contribute to to keep everyone Staying Safe.  The Technical Department is more often than not a fresh pair of eyes on our and our customer sites and we will be making every effort to up our game – particularly Near Miss Hazard alerts and being role models in the wearing and condition of our PPE.

Several of the items on the Agenda were as a result of the feedback from our previous workshop so we then reviewed our financial performance in 2016 by going through Overall UK results, by business and at plant level.

We reviewed our Value added offering with the Via range and then introduced Neogem linking this into the VAAS app and its content.  There were several break-out sessions throughout to get buy in and input from all.”
