Next Generation Of Bricklayers Are Trained By CEMEX DSM

As part of the course programme by West Suffolk College, CEMEX DSM was asked to run an open day to demonstrate the working of the plant. The day covered how we make dry silo mortar, together with a talk about the technical make up of the products, how the site silo works and how it can be maintained.

Graham Lewis arranged for the students to be inducted and ensured that appropriate PPE was worn, along with providing a hot beverage.  The students were split up into manageable groups and Duncan Hyams carried out a plant tour, Andy Nevitt imparted technical knowledge and finally Kevin Hyams showed the students the workings of the site silos.

West Suffolk College and CEMEX have worked together for the last few years now and have helped to train the next generation of bricklayers – let’s hope they remember us when they place their mortar orders!

Thank you to all those involved.
