Stockton Service Centre Repeats Healthy Lifestyle Group In 2016

In January 2015 Stockton Service Centre formed a CEMEX Healthy Lifestyle Group for people who wanted to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Each week they would all be weighed and their weight loss tracked – paying £1.00 each. Each month a third of the money total was awarded to the ‘Slimmer of the Month’.  The remainder of the money was put away to be donated to a charity of the winner’s choice at the end of six months.  Due to its success in 2015 Stockton have decided to continue the group into 2016.

Here is Chris Westwood’s story: “I had always tried to maintain my weight and follow a healthy diet but I never reached my ideal weight!  I joined the group in 2015, gradually lost some weight and in January 2016 I started following “The Body Coach” (Joe Wicks) on Instagram.  I also bought his first book (Lean in 15) about cooking healthy and maintaining a low carbohydrate diet on a non- workout day, introducing higher carbohydrate meals on a workout day.  I am pleased to say I was the 6 month overall winner this year. From January 2016 to June 2016 I lost just over one stone. I have maintained this and now doing a lot more exercise/training to tone up. Naturally the weight loss will reduce and hopefully the inches will too! I have now bought Joe’s second book (Lean in 15 – The Shape Plan) and I’m looking forward to this next phase to hopefully see further results. The money collected for Charity over the six months was £250.00 – I have donated this money to a local charity called ‘Tees Valley Wheelchair Sports Club’, a charity which my colleague, Fleur Wilson, works very closely with.”
