April saw the Technical Development Programme (TDP) delegates spend time with CEMEX UK Cement operations at Rugby Cement works.
The delegates were given a tour of the vast Cement Plant which can produce 6,000 Tons of Cement per day. Around 75% of the raw materials used in the manufacture of Cement at Rugby are pumped some 56 miles underground from source to plant, reducing the requirement for road traffic haulage.
The delegates: Sean ODonnell, Luke Topp, Jamie Deere, Jack Tipper, Fraser Tannock and Aaron McArthur, also spent time learning the commercial, quality and technical sides to the business.
The TDP would like to thank Cement Quality Director, John Lay; Commercial Technical Manager, Richard Boult and Quality Coordinator, Edward Castleton, for their time and efforts spent with the delegates on this very enjoyable and rewarding module.
