A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away…..

Last week in Nuneaton another Aggregate Team took on a mission to defeat the dark side of untidy aggregate borders at Nuneaton and North Warwickshire Equestrian Centre for the disabledto offer new hope for the riding school to look neat and presentable.

in a galaxy 2 resized 2The Team undertook their return (of the Jedi…) Lend-A-Hand mission following on from their previous day last year, and Stuart Wood wrote this ‘star’ story about it on Shift.

“Outside the indoor riding arena had become untidy and overgrown but the Empire was about to strike back!

We had to clear approx 5-6t of waste material, laid Terram then covered it in the finest Staffordshire Pink Gravel from Rugley Quarry.

We barrowed approx 200-300 loads using the force and I registered 29,340 steps that day on my Fitbit! Fortunately we had good weather for the time of year which made it a lot easier.

The charity provides riding and horse therapy for disabled people in North Warwickshire to help build confidence, and offer an hour or two respite for carers or parents. They also have several volunteers which include boys and girls from 12 years old upwards to experience working with horses and it gets them off the streets to do something constructive with their time.

This event starred:

Andrew ‘Kenobi’ Barber, Gareth ‘Yoda’ Fenna, Trevor ‘Skywalker’ Barnacle  and Stuart ‘Chewbacca’ Wood!”
