Ancient fossil found at Taffs Wells Quarry

During a recent metal detection on No8 belt, Clive Jones, went to remove the offending piece of metal
and discovered an ancient fossil on the belt embedded in a piece of stone.

On further investigation it appears that the fossil is a Crinoid and could be up to 300 million years old. A Crinoid resembles an underwater flower and is commonly called a Sea Lily. Clive said that it was the first fossil he’d found at Taffs Well in the 30+ years that he has worked there. Or is it actually an ancient bolt from an alien civilization?!?  Has anyone else found any similar type fossils at their sites?
