Another Team from Rail Solutions at Somercotes has once again had the opportunity to help and improve an area for their local community.  They have carried out improvements to the entrance of the protected ponds sited next door to the factory.

The guys from the Somercotes site have carried out gardening work, cutting back overgrown hedgerows, weeded, sanded down a restricted access gated area and given it a complete repaint as well as the painting and repair of a wooden gate!

This has improved the look of the entrance and made it more inviting to the local community. The lads are extremely proud to be doing something that makes a difference in the community that they not only work but also live in.

Terry Clair, the Site Manager, went on to say: “We have built a great relationship with the local Council who have been very impressed and complementary of the hard work our Team has put in. My contact in the Council has been very thankful for the commitment CEMEX has shown in making these improvements.  We will be working with the local authorities with a view to continue with further improvements throughout the year.”
