Last week the Team at Hyndford Quarry installed 12 x 9ft tall raptor poles across the site. These are designed to encourage birds of prey to perch and look out for food.
As you will see in the picture they are already being put to good use. A Buzzard was spotted using the perch on Friday night and also spotted, and it has been confirmed by RSPB, that there is a pair of Kestrels on site which is fantastic as they are on steep decline in the UK.
100s of Canadian Geese also arrived last week and have taken up home at the newly installed silt pond system.
