Cycle Safety at London School

This week 30 children in Holy Cross School were participating in cycle training led by a specialist team from the Borough.  Tying in nicely with this training both Kevin D’Souza and Brian McCarthy, Sales Rep, visited the school to deliver further lessons on the importance of cycle safety.

Brian commented: “The reaction to our presentation was amazing as all the children were very attentive and provided great interaction throughout.  It was clear to me that our message of ‘Stop & Think’ and ‘Step in’ really struck a chord with them.

To add to the day Luke Corbett and Ben Alade arrived in one of our shiny ‘Building a Greater Britain’ trucks.  All the children had an opportunity to see the different safety features that we have and the potential dangers they may face as cyclists and pedestrians.

Every child was given a goody pack with a cycle safety booklet, high vis vest and other bits of stationary.

Feedback from the school was very positive and we will be visiting a few more in the New Year. Thanks to everyone who helped out.”

If you would like to do a cycle safety day at a school you could do so as your Lend-A-Hand day please find the materials on the following link in Shift:
