Lend-A-Hand At Grangemouth-Kinneil Bike Trails

On Thursday 6th April Blair Mclennan, Tom Hunter, Theresa Bryson and Owen Conroy carried out a Lend-A-Hand day at Grangemouth Plant on behalf of Kinneil Bike Trails, which is run by White Lady Mountain Biking.

The group approached CEMEX asking for any input on how they could get concrete and the Team felt this would be a great way to Lend-A- Hand. The groups aim was to create a cycle way in Boness Country Park which will allow children of all ages a safe area to learn new skills in an off road area.

Blair takes up the story: “We helped by creating the concrete plugs which were inserted into the ground. These are like pile caps and the ramps were attached onto the concrete plugs. The plugs gave a better base that allowed minimal movement once the course was opened.  1m3 of concrete was shovelled and compacted and floated off into the moulds. At a later date CEMEX will be involved with the installations on site once the concrete has reached enough strength.”
