Life After Stroke Awards

Jim Wainwright, Stuart Keighley and Peter Hember of RMX Central attended the Life After Stroke awards at the ICC in Birmingham last Wednesday. They were invited to the awards after having helped make Christmas decorations, cards and crackers for the association to sell at their fair for their Lend-A-Hand day.

There were so many people there from all ages that strokes had impacted on, including Dave Hill from the pop group Slade who was presenting the awards. Dave spoke about the time he went on stage about to start a gig and couldn’t stand properly and struggled to hold his guitar. He had to be helped off stage and people thought he was just drunk – he had suffered a stroke. The Lord Mayor of Birmingham also said a few words and he told us that his son has had 7 in total to date.”
