Last week Lee Lavery, Wayne Clarke (Plant Manager), Nick Vivian (Cluster Manager) and Adam Carty (Operations Supervisor), had the pleasure of using their Lend-A-Hand day with local Northampton charity MenCap.
Muriel from MenCap originally contacted us looking for a donation of 5 tonnes of sharp sand and with the collaboration of our Aggregates Team we offered to supply this. A meeting was set up to discuss what they were looking to do and to find out more about the charity.
MenCap were looking at laying a 12ft sq paving area to allow a new shed for storage purposes. When the Team offered their services to not only provide the sand but the labour as well Muriel was delighted. She said local charities had got used to the word ‘no’ for this kind of request.
The project was a great success and luckily using the experience Wayne Clarke has in laying paving slabs correctly, MenCap had a project done four weeks earlier than they thought. WELL DONE to all involved.
