This year’s title is From the Brink of Extinction, which will be published in partnership with Conservation International, Global Wildlife Conservation, IUCN, Oceanic Society, Turtle Conservancy and Earth in Focus.

The ongoing destruction, degradation, and fragmentation of the world’s natural ecosystems to make way for human populations have caused the decline and extinction of thousands of plants and animals. With this book CEMEX seeks to celebrate the remarkable resolve of innumerable people and institutions to save the ever-rising numbers of threatened species.

This volume highlights 25 species through spectacular photographs accompanied by descriptive profiles that mention species’ threats, causes for their decline and the remarkable efforts that have saved them from extinction.
