Three Peaks Charity Challenge….

Michael Firth, Assistant Quarry Manager at Hatfield, is doing the Three Peaks Challenge (the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland in 24 hours) to raise money for his friend, and his young family, who has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time.  Please give generously via his GoFundMe account: https://gofund.me/c6061620

Michael tells us why he is attempting the challenge: “My friend, Anthony, is currently facing a second battle with cancer having recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. He is currently going through treatment, and having already beaten testicular cancer last year, we are confident he will beat this too!

He’s dealt with it like a champion from the start, staying optimistic through setbacks and successes, but we want to make sure Anthony, his wife, Rebecca, and their three young children do not have to fight a financial battle as well.

So, this challenge presents itself as an opportunity to raise some support for him during his treatment and long recovery ahead.  My fiancé and I are attempting The National Three Peaks Challenge which involves climbing the three highest peaks of England, Scotland and Wales in 24 hours.

The total walking distance is 23 miles (37 km) and the total ascent is 3,064 metres (10,052ft).  We will start our climb on the 1st July.  Please support us with a donation if you can.” The photo shows Michael and his fiancée in Iceland at the top of a big hill!!
