As discussed during September the Logistics team embarked upon a Health challenge to achieve 300,000 steps per person in the month. I am pleased to say that this was achieved collectively and they have all donated £20 per person (£220) with matched funding from CEMEX. The team would like the money to be donated to “Wear it Pink” and “MacMillan” charities.
The photo shows some members of the team – left to right – Dave Hart, Julie Welch, Jane Walsh, Dave Rogers, Chris Shaw, Carl Milton, Dave Dulson and Paula Sedgwick. The members of the team also completed the challenge but are not in the photo – Rob Wilkinson, Paul Clarke and Scott Jones.
David Hart, Director Logistics & Supply Chain, comments: “The team agreed that we should embark upon a health challenge and we decided to target 300,000 steps per person in the month. The team chose a variety of ways to achieve this which included walking, running, swimming and much more all in an effort to get fitter. In addition, by sharing with each other our weekly steps performance we were able to create competitiveness amongst the team to meet the target as well as pull each other along. It was great fun and I would really encourage other teams to set themselves similar health challenges!!”
