With the Bank Holiday and school half term approaching at the end of this week, now is a good time to double check the measures in place to deter trespassers.  On average 5 people drown each year in UK Quarries, with the first deaths often coinciding with the slightly warmer weather we experience at this time of year.  It is important that inspection schemes are up to date, with the condition of site boundaries, fencing, signage and rescue equipment being in good order.  Records should be maintained of these inspections and the repairs that have been carried out.
