Dave And Mike Step In

Congratulations to Dave Roberts, Company Driver Cluster 7, and Mike Livsey, Concrete Technician, who ‘Stepped In’ with a customer last week.

Colour Zero Harm LogoDave was delivering concrete to a customer and Mike was sampling/testing the concrete.  The customer wasn’t aware of the dangers of using wet concrete and was walking in it at ankle deep with trainers on.  Dave ‘stepped in’ and asked the customer to get out of the concrete and washed the wet cement off his legs and the bottom of his trousers. The customer was still struggling to understand the dangers of alkali burns so Mike got a cement burns leaflet from his clip board so the customer could read about the dangers.

Roger Taylor, Operations Supervisor for Cluster 7, says: “Dave and Mike make it a personal goal to ‘step in’ where ever possible and have done several times in the past.  They do it in a way as not to cause offence and have saved various people from nasty injuries – keep up the good work. Look after yourself and look after each other.”
