Falls from height are one of the biggest causes of workplace fatalities and major injuries and therefore the recent actions of a cement tanker driver were very alarming and worth sharing via a Video Safety Alert.

10 years ago CEMEX took the initiative to remove the ladders from the cement tanker fleet to eliminate the need for the driver to access the top of the tanker via this method. All the sites where tankers load from have safe access platforms with protective cages and therefore the ladders on the tankers are not required.
