Have A Healthy Christmas and New Year

Whilst we are not reporting any Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) or Recordable Injuries (TRIs) in the week, a driver for one of our independent haulage contractors was involved in a road traffic incident in London.  At this stage we believe the driver suffered a heart attack, related to a pre-existing condition, which caused him to lose control of the truckmixer he was driving.  He was in a line of traffic at the time, travelling at low speed, and collided with the queue of vehicles in front of him.  Fortunately no third parties were seriously injured.

The truckmixer driver remains in hospital in a serious condition and our thoughts are with him and his family.

Jesus commented: “Our thoughts and prayers are with our truckmixer driver … We hope he recovers soon. This incident highlights the importance of doing our annual medical check-up and pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Health initiatives will be an important component of the 2016 Health and Safety plan.”
