With a focus on fatigue and mental health this week 2,000 CEMEX UK employees, over 250 sites supported the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) Stop. Make a Change. This is a national initiative across the UK infrastructure sector, intended to focus on how we can work together to build a healthier, safer industry. Many parts of the business have a stand down planned this week, to consider what more we can do to look after ourselves and each other.
This will be the first ever UK wide health, safety and wellbeing stand-down with more than 40 UK infrastructure clients, contractors and supply chain companies involved.
To ensure a common focus on some of the key health challenges that the industry faces, CECA identified areas for consideration in the stand-down. We are using this as an opportunity to focus on the recently revised Health Essentials and, in line with the CECA guidance, the areas of wellbeing relating to Mental Health and Fatigue.
