Isolation Procedures Safety Alert

With many sites continuing to review isolation procedures in line with current Improvement Plans the Safety Alert in the download section of the UK News website describes a recent Near Miss incident in Related Businesses, is a good reminder of the need to ensure isolation procedures consider all potential hazards/risks.

While there were no injuries in this incident, it is easy to envisage how the gap in the procedures and breakdown in communications could so easily have led to tragedy.

Where operations have hoppers, etc. that are fed by trucks/mobile plant, site teams must ensure robust isolation procedures are in place, detailing what measures are required to prevent materials being discharged where maintenance is ongoing.
