Mark Renshaw, Batcher, RMX Northern, realised some added benefits of walking home last week during his pedometer challenge. “I’ve taken up the pedometer challenge this year along with many of my CEMEX colleagues. One thing it’s done for me, apart from the obvious health benefits, is opened my eyes to the things around me that I don’t often get to see whilst driving.

Yesterday for instance I took a decision as it was a beautiful day to walk home instead of driving. It is a reasonable walk 9 miles or so, but it all adds steps! Bolsover Castle is something I often take for granted ‘cos I live near it, but I’ve never had so much time to see it for all its majesty until yesterday….. it took a while to climb that hill. I thought I would share the view for all to see…”
