The Mineral Products Association (MPA) has just announced that the window for submissions to their prestigious Health and Safety Awards Scheme 2017 is open. This is a great opportunity to share good practice across both CEMEX and the wider industry; entries from the operations are encouraged in any of the following 8 categories:
- Contractor Safety
- Engineering Initiatives
- Behavioural Safety, Safety Culture & Leadership
- Reducing Occupational Road Risk
- Transport Initiatives
- Occupational Health and Wellbeing
- Worker Involvement
- Bitumen, Asphalt & Contract Surfacing
Completion of the entry forms for the Awards is very straightforward and copies of the forms and guidance are available from the Health and Safety Team. It should be noted that we are limited to 16 entries in total from across the business and we are, therefore, asking that rather than submitting forms direct to MPA, they are sent to Peter Luxmore (peter.luxmore@cemex.com) by Thursday 16th March so that, if required, a shortlist of entries can be drawn up.
Many of our operations and individuals have received significant recognition in these Awards over the years and it would be great if we can continue this legacy and encourage entries from all areas of the business.
