With the excesses of Christmas behind us many of us think about getting fitter and healthier around this time of year.
Some top tips include:
- Cut down on your sugar intake – focus on healthy alternatives to cake and biscuits such as fruit and veg instead.
- Get moving – try and do at least 3 x 30 minutes worth of walking each week to try and improve your health.
- Cut down on the alcohol – maybe even commit to a dry January! Replace beer and wine with sparkling waters with a wedge of lemon and lime in or just drink alcohol at weekends, make Monday to Friday alcohol free. Beers and lagers have the most calories in, so maybe swap to a white wine spritzer with soda water or gin and tonic for the lower sugar/calorie options?
