Wear The Right PPE – A Possible LTI

There was a possible LTI incident this week at one of our Quarries when an employee took off his tinted safety glasses as he entered a building from bright sunlight.

He suffered an eye injury when he proceeded to shovel some overspill from a conveyor and a small piece of aggregate flicked up and struck him in the eye.  It reminds us that we must all wear the correct personal protective equipment at all times.

Jesus Gonzalez, our Country President commented: “It is very disappointing to still find out cases of employees not wearing the correct PPE. This is one of our Safety essentials and it has been probed so many times that PPE can prevent very nasty incidents. Please look after your colleagues and contractors and STEP IN if you see them not wearing the right PPE.”
