Here are two great examples of employees taking the time to “Step In” last week and potentially preventing serious injury.  In Readymix Cluster 12 (East Midlands) the Truckmixer Drivers raised a concern about customers at a delivery site accessing the rear ladders on their vehicles and standing on the platform mid rails to look into the drums to assess the slump of the concrete.

In Cluster 7 (Yorkshire/Humberside) a Team Leader Stepped In when he saw a contractor working on a roof without correctly anchoring his fall arrest device.  Thanks go to our colleagues who took the time to “Step In”.

Corrective action was taken in both cases to stop it happening again.  If we are to achieve our goal of ZERO injuries we all need to look after each other and “Step In” if we feel something is unsafe.
