CEMEX UK Wins Energy Efficiency Scheme Award (ESOS)

Mike Greer (UK Energy Coordinator) was on hand at the Energy Managers Association exhibition to collect CEMEX’s award for ‘Best Practice ESOS compliance Project 2015’ in the Private Sector Energy Management Awards category.

ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme) is new legislation requiring all large organisations to audit 90% of all energy consumption as a business and provide recommendations on energy efficiency and potential savings at board level or have a ISO 50001 energy management system in place – all with a December 5th deadline for reporting to the Environment Agency.

This has been a huge collaborative effort from the Energy, Sustainability and Operational Teams with recognition going to Mike Greer, Arnold Lewis, Kevin Cage, Jason Barker, Kevin Hockley, Carl Milton and the Rugby Plant Team for their individual contributions. Not forgetting South Ferriby, of course, who having already achieved ISO 50001 were able to sit back on this one.
